Diverse Coalition of Stakeholders to Hold Media Briefing on IRS Service Issues

Washington, D.C. (January 21, 2022) – The Tax Professionals United for Taxpayer Relief Coalition is holding a virtual media briefing on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, to discuss IRS (Internal Revenue Service) service issues that have caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for taxpayers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tax Professionals United for Taxpayer Relief Coalition is comprised of American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), together with Latino Tax Pros, National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA), National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), National Conference of CPA Practitioners (NCCPAP), National Society of Accountants (NSA), National Society of Black Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (NSBCPA), National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP), Padgett Business Services, the Diverse Organization of Firms (DOF), H&R Block and Prosperity Now.

In a recent letter to the IRS, the Coalition outlined four actions the IRS can take to meaningfully reduce unnecessary burdens for taxpayers and practitioners during the upcoming tax filing season. The Coalition is holding a virtual media briefing to discuss these issues and reasonable recommendations the IRS can implement to provide taxpayers with the relief they need. This briefing is open to all members of the press and Congressional staff.

If you would like to attend this media briefing, please RSVP your attendance to Veronica Vera at the AICPA at veronica.vera@aicpa-cima.com or at 202-434-9215 for press access.
